The Child-Friendly City, Mysore initiative aims to ensure that every child in the district grows up in a safe, nurturing and supportive environment. Rooted in child rights and holistic development, the programme focuses on strengthening child protection systems and empowering institutions and communities involved in child care. This project is aimed to stop the repeated children at the hot spot areas of Mysore city by providing in depth counselling to repeated children, begging children, street addicts and design a lasting rehabilitation package for such categories of children in consultation with the DCPU. Alongside counselling, the initiative works to improve the child-care ecosystem by training CCI staff in basic counselling methods, offering capacity-building sessions for government school teachers on behaviour management, and supporting the DCPU, CWC, and Childline in cases requiring specialised intervention. Together, these coordinated efforts reflect a strong commitment to building a compassionate, inclusive and truly child-friendly Mysore.
