Don Bosco Makkalalaya, in association with the Don Bosco Youth Movement and in collaboration with ESAF Foundation, organised a cleaning campaign on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The programme began with an informative talk on plastic pollution, highlighting its harmful impact on the environment, followed by a reflection on Gandhian values, particularly the importance of cleanliness and social responsibility.
Following the session, a cleanliness drive was conducted along the entire stretch of Shivaji Road in N.R. Mohalla, extending up to Fountain Circle. Students, youth members and staff joined hands to collect plastic waste and other forms of garbage from the streets, contributing their efforts towards creating a cleaner and greener Mysuru and promoting the vision of a plastic-free city.
The campaign provided the participants with an opportunity to put into practice the values of civic responsibility, environmental awareness and collective action. The programme concluded with snacks and refreshments for all the participants.
