The inauguration of the 43rd Batch Skill Training Programme at Don Bosco Makkalalaya was held on 13th August in the presence of His Excellency Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of Mysore and Secretary Fr. Ashwin.
The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a prayer song presented by the staff. Fr. Jim Jose SDB, Executive Director of Don Bosco Makkalalaya, delivered the introductory speech and warmly welcomed the students of the new batch. He encouraged them to make the most of the opportunities provided through the skill training programme.
Fr. Devassy SDB, Director of Don Bosco Makkalamane and Guest of Honour, spoke about the importance of self-sustenance, particularly for women, and highlighted the need for financial freedom and independence.
His Excellency Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao SJ addressed the students and spoke about the three important “Es” — Education, Empowerment and Emancipation. He encouraged the students to value education, develop their skills and become empowered individuals capable of building a better future. The chief guest was honoured.
The programme also featured cultural performances by the students, adding joy and enthusiasm to the occasion. This was followed by the distribution of ID cards to the students and badges to the SSLC and PUC class leaders. The occasion also witnessed the release of Impact Chronicle, Volume 3, Issue 1.
The programme concluded with a group photo session, followed by snacks and refreshments for the students and guests. The inauguration marked the beginning of a new journey of learning, skill development and empowerment for the 43rd batch.
