I am Kavya S and I hail from Srirangapatna, Mandya district. I completed MSW (Master of Social Work) in 2019 and worked as a volunteer in Nehru Yuva Kendra for 2 years and as a HR executive in Dhaniram Technology, Bangalore for one year. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, I lost my job and I came back to my native place. Due to some family problems, I lost peace of mind and joy of life. I was living with sadness, anxiety and disappointment.
My best friend Jyoti who was already studying in Don Bosco Makkalalaya (DBM) urged me to join DBM saying that counseling, prayer, meditation and motivational talks offered in DBM enable me to find mental peace and joy.
After receiving three-month skill training, my computer knowledge is enhanced and I improved my English communication skill. Life skills classes, counseling, prayer and meditation session helped me to overcome depressive thoughts and feelings. Now I am leading a happy and peaceful life. I work as a computer operator in A.R. Technologies Cyber Centre in my hometown. I earn 15,000/- per month. I am thankful to Don Bosco Makkalalaya for the joyful life that I have now.
