Seminar on Cybercrime

A seminar on Cybercrime was conducted for the 42nd Batch Skill Training students and Summer Camp participants by Mr. Anil Chauhan from CCB, Mysore. The session was highly interactive, eye-opening, and relevant to the digital age, helping students understand the growing risks associated with technology and internet usage.

Mr. Anil Chauhan began the session by introducing the concept of cybercrime and explaining how crimes are committed through digital platforms. He spoke in detail about banking frauds, crimes carried out through social media, data theft, and the dangers of using unsafe third-party applications. Students were made aware of how personal information can be misused if proper precautions are not taken.

One of the most impactful parts of the seminar was the live demonstration, where students were shown how hackers can gain access to phones, accounts, and private data within a few seconds if users are careless. This practical demonstration created strong awareness among the participants and highlighted the importance of digital safety.

The session had a significant impact on adolescent students, as they are among the most active users of mobile phones and social media. It encouraged them to become more careful while using online platforms, protect their personal information, avoid suspicious links and apps, and practice responsible digital behavior. Students also learned the value of thinking before sharing information online.

Such awareness can positively change society by creating responsible digital citizens who are alert, informed, and cautious. As more young people become aware of cyber threats, cases of fraud, misuse, and online exploitation can be reduced. Overall, the seminar empowered students with practical knowledge to protect themselves and contribute to a safer digital society.
