It’s an initiative by Don Bosco Makkalalaya to improve students’ literacy level, for those who have not learnt to read, write and comprehend the basic text. Effective literacy skills open the doors to more educational and employment opportunities so that students can pull themselves out of poverty and chronic underemployment. Literacy is critical to economic development as well as individual and community well-being. Therefore after completing the Bridge Course in literacy the students are motivated to join for the SSLC Programme and continue their education.
