A one-day training program was jointly organized on 19th January by the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Mysuru, and Don Bosco Makkalalaya at Ajitha Nilaya, CFTRI Layout, Bogadi 2nd Stage, Mysuru.
The program was inaugurated by Mr. Amaranath K.K., Senior Civil Judge and Member Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Mysuru. He stressed the need to strengthen the capacity of CCI staff and counsellors through coordinated legal and psychosocial support.
Key officials present included Mr. Yogesh N.T., District Child Protection Officer, Mysuru; Mr. Basavaraju, Member, Karnataka State Child Welfare Committee; and Mr. Ravichandra M., Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Mysuru District, along with other CWC members.
A total of 58 participants from 22 Child Care Institutions attended the training. Sessions covered child protection, counselling, legal responsibilities, and rehabilitation. Resource persons addressed CCI management, CWC functions, child welfare laws including the POCSO Act, and trauma-informed counselling.
The program concluded with an interactive discussion and feedback session, strengthening coordination and commitment to safeguarding child rights.
