Seminar on Self Confidence, Goal Setting and Life Skills for the 38th Skill Training batch and Summer Camp students

We conducted a seminar on self confidence, goal setting and life skills for the Summer Camp and Skill Training 39th batch in which Mr. Mahadev Kotte, Member of CWC Mysuru was the resource person

Mr. Mahadev Kotte began by shedding light on the limitations of the present education system, which, he emphasized, primarily favors those who excel in rote learning. He urged students not to be discouraged by this but to find ways to manage and adapt to the system while developing their own skills and passions.

A central theme of the seminar was the importance of self-confidence and dreaming big. Drawing inspiration from the lives of renowned entrepreneurs such as Narayana Murthy and Steve Jobs, Mr. Kotte encouraged students to believe in their potential.

He also asked students to reflect on their daily activities, decisions, and the influence of their parents. While acknowledging the challenges young people face today, he stressed that blaming parents or circumstances should not be an excuse for failure. Instead, the youth must take responsibility for their growth.

Mr. Kotte strongly emphasized goal setting. He pointed out that setting goals just because someone else did it is not the right approach. One must be clear about personal goals, develop a positive attitude, and move towards those goals with conviction and belief. Financial discipline, including proper salary management, was highlighted as a crucial part of achieving long-term success.

The seminar also addressed the issue of youth unemployment and lack of skills. Mr. Kotte advocated for the idea that every occupation should be respected and treated as a profession. He encouraged young people to explore different career paths and continuously develop skills relevant to their interests.

Finally, Mr. Kotte discussed the significance of leadership and life skills. He emphasized that these are not just for those in positions of power but are essential for every individual striving for success in life.

The seminar was motivational, urging students to build a strong foundation of self-confidence, set meaningful goals, embrace challenges, and lead their lives with purpose and responsibility.
