I am John J hailing from Kalyanigiri, Mysuru. I discontinued my studies after failing in first PUC in 2016. I worked as a labour in the Aluminum Fabrication field. The work was hard and tough due to the nature of work involved and I was also vulnerable to hazardous chemical exposure. I had been thinking to quit my job and find a better job that would be safe for me to work. I was not getting selected for other jobs due to lack of educational qualification and lack of communication skills and other life skills.
My best friend Maya who had previously a student at Don Bosco Makkalalaya urged me to join three-month skill training programme saying that it would help me to find a better job. I joined Don Bosco Makkalalaya for the skill training programme. Initially, I was reluctant to make changes in my personality but then I started to respond well by the training given by the institution and from the inspiration of my peers in the class. I started to acquire skills quickly and improved my communication skills considerably. Ninety days of vigorous training enabled me to speak English fluently and operate computer skillfully. I learnt a lot from the skill training programme and have transformed myself and became employable.
Now I am working as a tele caller in Instant IT Technology while receiving salary of 10,500/- per month. I am happy with my job as well as with my life. I am ever grateful to Don Bosco Makkalalaya for what I am today.
